the wide reach of bay and the long sky line

I have lots to do today, but I'm still sort of half blissed-out from a weekend on Cape Cod and not really able to pay attention to Life Stuff.

We had so many delicious meals, a bunch of long walks, drives around to see gorgeous coast and fun spots in various towns, and visits to favorite shops (let us not speak of the many things I came out of my favorite kitchen shop clutching in my hot little hands).  It was the absolute perfect time to be there -- warm enough, not too hot, some chilly time to curl up with, plenty of sunny moments to luxuriate in, all the flowering trees popping with blooms, the weekend before the season so still very manageable and quiet crowd-wise.

Plus while the mister napped during the final afternoon, I grabbed a few hours on my own ostensibly to write.  But instead I spent it happily bundled up on the porch just watching the bay, and I don't regret it one bit.  We had an absolutely wonderful time, and good gravy, it was so very much needed.  What a boon to get out of town and spend all that lovely time with the mister and my own thoughts.

I hope you all had lovely weekends!

What an idyllic weekend! Several long walks on the beach, delicious meals and a kitchen store haul sound wonderful.

It really was lovely! Even when it rained for a while the first morning (before it cleared up and got all sunshiny and warm), it was good cozy-have-breakfast-lingering-over-coffee-and-conversation weather. :D

That sounds just lovely...I had a bit of an "ahhhh" feeling just reading your description. Sitting by water in quiet contemplation has always been a true balm for my soul. I shall have to seek some out soon, you've reminded me that I need some peaceful moments myself.

Awww, yay, I want to pass along some tranquility to you! Being near water feels so important to me, and getting a vacation that gives me an ocean nearby is just about perfect. It's funny, because I don't really care about sunbathing much (I mean, a little, but I get bored), but walking on beaches, along rivers, sitting by ponds, etc., is always marvelous. I am glad you will seek some out! Have a quiet moment and maybe a delicious cocktail for me!

OH, man, Cape Cod. Do so love it there.
*happy, envious sigh*
